Thunder 3
Three ordinary schoolboys come into possession of a DVD that supposedly opens a gateway to a parallel universe, but when their backs are turned Pyontarou's little sister Futaba passes through and gets kidnapped by the aliens that have overrun that version of Earth! Discovering that their cartoonish bodies make them supermen in the hyper-realistic parallel universe, the boys set out to rescue Futaba.

Okay, I will do my best to ignore that the animation style looks like CGI drawn with crayons by an eight year old.
It starts with some cheap laughs, and a slice-of-life kind of feel, but takes a dramatic left turn near the end.
I am not sure what to make of this. I dont particularly care for the setup, but it does hint at an interesting premise in the twist.

Adult oriented interdimensional adventure with little kids as the protagonists, like if the kids from Dennou Coil were protected by Looney Toons-stlye cartoon physics. The narrative possibilities of this are really nuts.

Has a very simple and bright 4koma look to the art. The character frame pacing in a lot of scenes is a bit too high though; you can tell they're CG. Almost as bad as Kemono & Friends. The mouths could use some more variation. Nice use of art style differences to give contrast to the different dimensions. I'm curious what the explanation will be for the main characters having superior strength and abilities. Maybe that they're from a "less realistic" world, with less realistic limitations... Opening track is pretty standard shounen rock, and the closer is nothing special.

Cartoon art style how be it CGI in a manga/anime hyper realism world just isn't enough difference for me. Wizard of Oz did it better and in technocolor. Had they gone the extra step of live action actors and scenes mixed with CGI aliens but no way even Netflix has the budget for that. Still it's a fun romp at a childish manga. The dad being a manga artist himself with the kid asking when his manga, Thunder 3, was going to be made into an anime was too much breaking the fourth wall for me. Still if you set you expectations low enough this is a fun show.
